Victory Publishing Co. Ltd. is a family-owned information and content provider that has delivered invaluable newspapers, magazines, phone books and now a Web site for the residents of the Highland Lakes.

Founded by the husband-and-wife team of Dan and Lee Alvey in Marble Falls two decades ago, the company continues to be the most respected voice for the people of Central Texas, a trusted source of news and a proven partner to its advertisers.

Dan and Lee Alvey, who have lived in the Highland Lakes for more than 30 years,  started the company with the weekly Picayune in the early 1990s, a unique print product that even today continues to offer widely popular "feel-good" news for the Hill Country.

The Alveys had a vision: Create a one-of-a-kind publication that united the community and highlighted what was best about the people and events of the Highland Lakes. History has shown just how successful their idea proved to be.

The groundbreaking Picayune remains the foundation of the company, though operations have become greatly diversified and adaptable to satisfy a growing audience, including the delivery of the Web site.

As the new century begins, the next generation of Alveys are keeping alive their family's deeply held tradition of commitment to the news, entertainment and advertising needs of the Highland Lakes and beyond. To achieve that objective, Victory has gathered the most professional staff possible, employees possessed of high values who are truly dedicated to serving the community.

Victory strives to fulfill three goals:

1. To serve the information needs of readers and viewers.

2. To produce results for advertisers.

3. To remain a part of the heart and soul of the community through sponsorships

and good works that empower others.

Victory's products include The Picayune, The River Cities Daily Tribune (voted the best small daily newspaper in Texas in 2008 by the Texas Press Association), the Highland Lakes Business Journal and the 101 Fun Things to do in the Highland Lakes tourism magazine.

The Picayune Area-Wide Phone Book is also published out of Victory's Marble Falls offices.

The company also produces the Victory Web site and Picayune TV.

In addition to Victory, the Alveys founded a second company, Texas Publishing Co., which produces phone books in San Antonio and Corpus Christi.

The Picayune Press, located at the Victory offices, prints many of the company's publications, as well as some outside jobs.

Today Victory Publishing Co. Ltd. continues to be the most trusted source of news and advertising for the Highland Lakes region northwest of Austin. More than 30,000 residents each week read or are exposed to a Victory product. Those numbers are growing.

The company is led by Chief Executive Officer Dan Alvey, Chief Financial Officer Amber Patterson, President and Publisher Amber Alvey Weems, Editor Thomas Edwards, Production Manager/Webmaster Florence Edwards and Advertising Director Mandi Wyatt. Connie Swinney heads up the news video production; and Deanna Nail handles Web advertising and programming.

The Victory home office is located at 1007 Ave. K, Marble Falls, TX, USA; phone 830.693.7152. It is located on the Web at www.thepicayunetv.com.
