GRANITE SHOALS —  Pro Boat Customs owned by Scott Martin and Bobby Wooten has outgrown the previous location in Marble Falls, so they moved July 1 to 7219 RR 1431 West.

“We’re like a body shop for boats. We specialize in making custom-built boats and boat repair and use fiberglass and gelco resins in the process,” Martin said. “We also felt the need to move as we didn’t like having those resins so close to an elementary school as we had in Marble Falls.”

With the move, Pro Boat Customs has added a new dealer, Lake LBJ Marineland, to their list of companies that carry their line of boats. Lake LBJ Marineland and Boats Unlimited represents the company by selling their products across Central Texas.

“In addition to a customer having a boat built exactly to their specifications, they also love the fact that we take pictures throughout the building process to show them their boat during the different phases of its construction,” Martin said.

Pro Boat Customs can be reached at (830) 596-7601, or visit the Web site at  www.proboatcustoms.com.

Man's goal: Keeping history alive

BURNET — When "Buddy" Inman drives along U.S. 281, he's thinking about the past.

He wonders about others who have traveled the road and why and how their journeys relate to Texas history.

Inman's interest in history is one reason he joined the Sons of the Republic of Texas, a genealogical organization committed to preserving the history of the state and passing it on to the next generation of Texans.
